🏆 The Good :
I am really impressed with this place. If any of you are not aware, I had the opportunity to eat at Franklin and Louie Mueller BBQ in Austin, TX this past summer. So, needless to say, the bar is set extremely high for me when it comes to good BBQ. I consider good BBQ juicy, meaty, smoky, and full of flavor, without ever having to add BBQ sauce. The fatty brisket here is pretty moist, with good smoky flavor. The lean brisket was a bit dry, but honestly who the hell orders lean brisket anyways? The sausages that they ship in are super juicy with a fantastic snap. My favorite of the bunch has to be the pork ribs though. They are tender, fall off the bone, super meaty, and most importantly, don’t need a lick of sauce. The sides are decent, the mac and cheese unsurprisingly my favorite. But honestly, my advice is to not fill up too much on sides, so you can save room for dessert.
🚫 The Not so good :
I have to say my least favorite items are the pulled pork, and the creamed corn. The pork needed sauce, which was delicious, but I typically rate on the meat sans sauce. And I liked the creamed corn, it had a nice kick to it, but would have liked it to be chunkier. Was a bit too smooth for me.
Aside from the food, I also have to mention that the manager/owner that we met was amazing. He is so knowledgeable about BBQ, and you can feel his passion when he speaks about it. I recommend going in at a slow time, and having them tell you all about what they do. You’ll have much more of an appreciation for their craft, and will understand their product even more.
